Chapter 532
Bethany couldn't remember when she'd fallen asleep, but when she woke up the next morning, Jenny was already up.
Still groggy, Bethany shuffled into the living room and heard Jenny calling her for breakfast.
"I've got almond milk, croissants, and bagels. Go freshen up," Jenny said.
"Okay," Bethany mumbled, keeping it short.
Jenny seemed like her usual self, but those dark circles under her eyes were hard to miss. She clearly hadn't slept well. Bethany figured Jenny had probably stayed up all night.
They grabbed breakfast together and made it to the courthouse with half an hour to spare. But Bethany was still on edge. She would lose it if Trystan pulled another vanishing act.
"I'll shoot him a reminder," she muttered.
Then, she quickly typed a WhatsApp message, "I'm at the courthouse now. The hearing's in half an hour. Hurry up!"
