"You cared about the family all along, didn't you?" Bethany asked.
Samuel fell silent. Indeed, who he cared for the most wasn't Tina or Megan—it was their family all along.

Samuel gritted his teeth. "What else does Megan dare do to me this time?"
"Dad, trust me. Megan isn't the good girl she seems to be—she's more insane than you could imagine. We still can't let her know about us acknowledging each other for now," Bethany anxiously said.
