Samuel and Bethany booked a private room in the coffee shop.
"Have you found something, Uncle Samuel?" Bethany cut straight to the chase without any small talk.
He frowned. "What exactly do you know, Bethany?"
Bethany didn't reply. Instead, she looked at Samuel as she waited for him to answer.
"I'm afraid I'm about to let you down." He tugged at the corners of his lips. "I didn't find anything."
It was just as she expected.
Bethany gritted her teeth in frustration. There was no way Megan would leave any clues behind.
Just as she felt utterly disappointed, she heard Samuel continue, "But it's exactly because I can't find anything that I became even more suspicious that something was amiss."
