Chapter 229
Trystan returned to his room, deep in thought. Bethany had mentioned a missing pajama top. He vaguely recalled seeing it somewhere.
He scoured the bedroom but found nothing. Moving to the bathroom, he spotted the pajama top hanging outside the window. He reached out and retrieved it. It was a childish, pale yellow top with a pouting duck.
Trystan frowned in irritation, thinking the duck looked a lot like Bethany. He raised his hand to toss the top into the trash but stopped at the last second.
Instead, he returned to the bedroom with it. Then, he folded it neatly and placed it in the wardrobe.
He lay in bed, and his gaze repeatedly drifted to the wardrobe where the pajama top was. An indescribable feeling weighed on his chest, making him feel stifled and short of breath. Finally, he turned his back to the wardrobe and slowly calmed himself.
