Bethany and Jenny returned to the living room together.
Bethany sighed, guilt weighing on her. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't taken Ash over there..."
"Beth, you're blaming yourself again," Jenny reminded her, squeezing her hand. "This isn't on you. If anyone should be blamed, it's Trystan. He'll be the one regretting it later."
Bethany looked down. "One day, when Trystan gets his memory back, he'll feel worse than anyone."
"He deserves it," Jenny muttered.
Bethany gave a helpless smile and changed the subject. "By the way, how's the divorce with Zane going?"
Jenny's smile tightened. She shook her head for a while, after which she let out a half-laugh, half-scoff. "Today, I finally understood what it really means when a guilty person plays the victim."
Bethany frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I got a text from the court today. I'm being sued." She handed Bethany her phone.
Bethany scanned the message, stunned. "He's suing for divorce? Zane is suing you?"
