After Trystan hung up with Bethany, he immediately called Bianca.
"Mom, why did you suddenly come back?" he asked, genuinely confused.
Bianca, on her way to preschool, frowned. "What's wrong? You're not happy to see me? If that's the case, I can leave right now."
"You know that's not what I meant," he explained, keeping his tone calm. He didn't want to upset her, especially since it was his fault for not telling her about his marriage. "If you'd told me you were coming, I would've sent someone to pick you up."
Her expression softened slightly, and she let out a small laugh. "Well, at least you still have me in your heart. You're getting married and didn't even bother to tell me..."
"Mom, not telling you about Bethany and me getting married was my choice," Trystan insisted. "Don't blame her. She reminded me twice, but I didn't want to interrupt your travels."
