CHAPTER 43: HAVE A DRINK

"How could you speak ill of my friend like that?" Victoria pretended to be angry. "Harriet is a very good person; she cares for me a lot." If ruining her experimental samples counts as taking care, then Harriet takes good care of her. After hearing Victoria's words, the woman burst into laughter and spoke: "With her personality, how could she possibly take care of others? If she's not deceiving people, she is ripping them off—that's her personality." "You seem to know her well?" Victoria asked. "Are you also her friend?" "I have no friends, and I don't need any," the woman leaned against the bar and spoke. "How about having a drink? Would you like one?" Victoria felt like she had been encountering alcohol a lot lately. Whenever she met someone, they wanted to have a drink. She didn't like drinking much, at most a little low-alcohol fruit wine. "I'm not good at drinking," Victoria avoided the question and redirected it to Harriet. "Do you know where Harriet is? I want to find her."
