Victoria felt a surge of protectiveness towards Sandrine. "What do you mean?"
"You've been consistently covering for Sandrine, Victoria. You're enabling her behavior. I'm afraid we'll have to take disciplinary action against both of you."
"Mr. Hathaway, please rethink your decision. Sandrine is very sorry about what she did."
The dean glanced at Sandrine. "She doesn't look apologetic, though."
Sandrine huffed and looked away; her frown set in.
Victoria's mind raced as she tried to think of a way to salvage the situation. She was going to get in trouble because of Sandrine.
The dean sighed. "Victoria, I can't seem to understand why you'd associate yourself with someone like Sandrine. You are a good student; she has been nothing but a nuisance."
Just as Victoria was about to reply, the door burst open, and Harry strode in, his presence commanding attention.
"Ah, Dean Hathaway. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important," Harry said with a small smile.
