She pointed to the camera in a corner of the ceiling. ‘What about the CCTV camera? Have you checked the footage?’
‘I did while waiting for you to come.’ Dr Morrison nodded.
‘And? What did you find?’ Kira stared at him, hopeful and apprehensive at the same time.
The doctor pursed his lips. ‘Nothing.’
‘What?’
‘The footage we had was up till last night. There was nothing from today.’
He pointed to the hallway outside. ‘Same goes for all other cameras in the building. Tech support says it’s a system malfunction. They’re trying to reboot the system right now.’
Dr Morrison turned to the bed.
The EKG lead wires, nasogastric tube and endotracheal tube were scattered all over the sheets.
The intracranial pressure monitor as well as the electrocardiogram monitor were both switched off.
Which was why the nurses’ station didn’t get an alert when Mr Hewitt was moved.
