Chapter 111 - The ringing phone
Loneliness was nauseating, especially when there were people in the next room having a merry time. Elsa was yet to move from the door as she was anxious about what to say to Jack. She didn't know how to respond to him if he inquired what happened between her and Luke. She could hear Jack and his sister playing cheerfully upstairs. From the sound, she could tell that Jack was tickling her.
It was the first thing she heard while she slept there the first time. Early in the morning, she heard both of them going about it. They were undoubtedly the best sibling dynamic she had ever seen. Still, her body ached, and she couldn't face Jack.
It would be awkward for her to step out now. Luke's face could be the first thing she saw when she lived. She covered her face in shame as images of him ran through her mind. It would be embarrassing if she left now, and saw him on the way.
"I'm being a hindrance here, she sighed to herself. I have to go."
"Come on, you know I can hear you from there,"
