Nathan could forgive Layla's blind use of metaphors, but she didn't even know to add some modifying adjectives. He supposed that was the extent of her capabilities
He conversed with Layla for about half an hour.
Oscar waited five minutes for him before losing his patience and leaving decisively.
Cheryl, on the other hand, stayed back in the classroom for at least 20 minutes—it was evident that she really wanted to have another talk with him.
But he had been purposely avoiding her lately.
Roughly half a month had passed since their encounter at the swimming pool, and she was seeing him again only today.
"Let's just go, Cherry. Nathan probably sneaked away long ago…"
Naturally, Wendy was accompanying Cheryl. She was gradually losing her patience, seeing as most of their classmates had left.
Cheryl agreed with Wendy—Nathan had already sneaked away. She looked both disappointed and lost.
