Monica's voice was dripping with charm, the kind that could make any man waver, as she spoke over the phone. "Is this Mr. Escobar? I'm Monica Boyd, heiress of Boyd Corporation." Jacob's reply remained flat as he curtly asked, "What do you want?" "I heard you broke up with Nicole. Funny thing is, she and I have a bit of history. Are you interested in teaming up?" Jacob only showed the slightest flicker of emotion when he heard Nicole's name. "You? You know Nicole?" Monica's tone lifted with a hint of amusement as she replied, "Not only do I know her, but there's also a lot of bad blood between us." To Monica's surprise, Jacob cut right through her theatrics. "You were involved with those rumors circulating online, weren't you? Nicole operated on Mr. Boyd, and someone stirred up a storm, turning public opinion against her. Was that your doing?" Monica hesitated, caught off guard. She hadn't expected Jacob to be this sharp. After a brief pause, she tried to regain the upper
