Aden's eyes followed me closely as if he were trying to see me lose my composure.
Before I could respond, William suddenly spoke up, "Mr. Whitfield, perhaps you're being overly sensitive. Mr. Wright answered your questions as asked. I didn't detect any impatience in his responses.
"Besides, there's really nothing suspicious about these questions. We wouldn't deceive government officials, would we?"
Though William's words were directed at Aden, he maintained a friendly smile, making it impossible for anyone to find fault with his demeanor.
I couldn't help but smile internally.

Aden's smile vanished, and his expression became serious.
"Mr. Horton, I understand you're defending Xavier since you're from the same company. But as it happens, Mr. Wright and I grew up as neighbors. I know him better than anyone here."
