Bonnie's so-called cousin was a junior manager at the hotel. Well, to be precise, he wasn't really her cousin by blood. He was one of her lovers.
"No. We had a fight recently," Bonnie said, shaking her head at the idea. "Laila, we're like sisters. Can't you help me out this one time? I can just stay away from the hotel for a while until those rich folks leave. They'll never know."
Laila hesitated. This idea wasn't entirely unreasonable.
"I swear," Bonnie pressed, sensing Laila's doubt.
Laila knew that if she didn't agree, Bonnie's "cousin" would probably find a way to bring her back anyway. It didn't seem worth it to burn bridges over this.
