I maintained a blank expression and wondered if this woman was out of her mind.
"Baby, let me in. We can't keep denying our feelings for each other."
I was now confident that this receptionist had some kind of mental illness.

"No, I won't!" Bonnie seemed convinced that I would sympathize with her and not shut the door on her hand.
"Ah!" she screamed in pain and quickly pulled her hand back.
I slammed the door shut, walked to the phone, and called the front desk to complain about the unhinged woman outside my door.
"We're terribly sorry, sir. We'll have someone deal with this matter right away," the front desk receptionist apologized excessively.
"Make it quick." I frowned.
The knocking continued. The hotel's soundproofing muffled it enough not to be too bothersome. Still, it was annoying. About 30 seconds later, the knocking stopped.
