I sat by the floor-to-ceiling window in my pajamas, quietly reading. After a knock, Alfie walked in.
"Mr. Wright, the Whitfield family has already taken him back."
I nodded. "What did they say?"
He hesitated before speaking, "It was Simon who came... He seemed really angry, but didn't say much."
My expression remained unchanged as I continued focusing on my book.
"Simon is a hypocritical old fox. He's probably trying to use this situation to get some advantage from my parents. No wonder the Whitfield family can't produce anyone respectable."
Cindy didn't have much of a brain. Aden and Tristan—one was ruthless but lacked finesse, and the other knew how to read people but had no business sense. Even Simon's prized son was just a spineless, servile hypocrite.
After thinking it over, I sent a message to Drew. "Keep an eye on the Whitfield family's movements. If necessary, let Jasper take action."
