As they explored further, they came across a series of hyperrealistic portraits. Anna gasped at the level of detail, each face seeming to come alive on the canvas.
"It's incredible," she breathed, leaning in close to examine the brushstrokes. "How they capture not just the physical features, but the essence of the person."
Erik nodded, his expression unreadable. "Speaking of portraits," he said, a hint of nervousness in his voice, "there's something I'd like to show you."
Intrigued, Anna followed him to a small, private viewing room off the main gallery. As they entered, her eyes were immediately drawn to a large canvas on the far wall. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized what she was looking at.
