CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIX - Unspoken Tensions
It was during a routine security check that Anna stumbled upon the first real lead. She was reviewing the logs of outgoing communications when she noticed a pattern of encrypted messages being sent at odd hours of the night. The sender had been careful, using different devices each time, but the timing and frequency were too consistent to be coincidental.
Heart pounding, she rushed to find Erik, who was overseeing combat training in the mansion's gymnasium. She pulled him aside, her voice low and urgent as she shared her discovery.
Erik's face darkened as he processed the information. "Can you trace the messages? Find out who sent them?"
Anna shook her head. "Not yet. Whoever it is, they're good at covering their tracks. But I'm working on it."
As they discussed their next steps, a commotion from the training area drew their attention. Two pack members were engaged in a heated argument, their voices rising above the general din of the gym.
"You've been acting weird for weeks!" one
