AURORA.
In the afternoon, Nathaniel texted me the address of the restaurant where I was to meet with him and his sister. My joy knew no bounds from winning the bid and I could barely sit still long enough to put on makeup. After poking myself in the eye numerous times with my eyeliner, I finally finished applying my makeup, grabbed my purse and my phone and went downstairs to find my Uber.
The afternoon was painted in soft shades of gold as I entered the restaurant, but I could not admire the beautiful ambiance because I was too anxious about meeting Thea. My last meeting with her had not turned out so well, especially since she’d accused me of being a terrible wife to her brother plus the fact that her friend, Taylor, had sought to embarrass me because she was in love with Nathaniel.
The scent of delectable cuisine hung in the air, the soft hum of conversation and clinking of cutlery growing louder. My eyes searched for Nathaniel as I consciously stepped forward. I spotted them - N
