Chapter 34--CONTENTION, NOT COMPETITION

He brought the horse ride to a standstill when we got to the back of the castle, as in the way that led away from the castle and not into its beautiful environment. There was a small old dilapidating building there. He pulled me down gently from the horseback and took me into the dilapidating building. Its stairs were falling and everywhere made a creaking sound like it'd fall and crumble any time soon. Inside the building, there was a lot of dust and cobwebs filled everywhere. The furniture stank of age, and the doors and windows looked fallen apart. The floor was rotting too because as we walked on it, it felt like we could sink if we stepped on it too hard, the walls already crumbled at an angle and the ones which were still standing straight had several insects build their homes on them. The building must be nothing less than 30 years old I suppose. Maybe it was even more than. I wonder why it had not been either refurbished or destroyed into rubbles. I wonder what we were doing in
