Chapter 250: Picking Up the Goods
As Oliver spoke, his mother's expression remained unchanged, her face dark as she looked at her son. What was he thinking? Didn't he understand? The food he ate shouldn't have caused any problems, but now there was a big issue, and he almost couldn't be saved.
"I just want to know what you're thinking right now. Do you know how worried you've made us? If something had really happened to you, how could we go on? And about what happened back then, you've never told me what really happened. You even refused to tell your sister. If you really leave us like this, how can we bear it?"
"Now it's just the few of us left. Anyway, I just hope you'll be okay, but what you've done really upsets me."
Hearing his mother's words, Oliver felt especially guilty. He didn't dare to say that what he said last night was intentional. He knew his mother wouldn't be able to accept that news; she would surely be devastated.
