Chapter 1 Mistaken Sleeper
"Ah!"
The tearing pain woke Catherine up, and with the dim light, she saw clearly who the man pressing on her was.
The man furrowed his brows lightly, his body stopping its movement, his low, hoarse voice tinged with surprise, "Is it your first time?"
Catherine's pupils contracted sharply. She never dreamed that her first time wouldn't be with the man she deeply loved but with her fiancé's brother—Curtis!
Today marked the fifth anniversary of her relationship with Leonard. Her family held strict views on marriage, forbidding any intimacy before marriage.
Since their engagement, Leonard had shown intentions of intimacy several times, but Catherine always refused.
Now that their wedding was imminent, she finally gathered the courage to break the family's rules.
They had agreed to meet tonight, starting with a date at the bar and some drinks.
The alcohol gradually dispelled Catherine's timidity, and they ended up in the hotel.
Catherine had imagined that tomorrow morning, when they woke up, they would smile at each other with happiness and sweetness.
Even though Catherine knew it would be short-lived for Leonard.
She always knew her fiancé was ambitious, always indulging in his desires, and the affection she wanted would be scarce.
But she never thought it would end before it even began.
Curtis was the heir of the Tulls family, with a temperament as changeable as the weather.
Arrogant and unreasonable, he never reasoned with anyone.
No one dared to provoke such a demon, not even the closest family members.
"Why... why are you here?"
Where did things go wrong?
Catherine's mind was in chaos, the more she wanted to know where it went wrong, the clearer the intimate scenes of them together flashed in her mind.
Her clothes were torn open by the man, revealing large patches of skin. In the dim light, the man slowly stripped her clothes off, kissing down from the corner of her mouth.
Her most sensitive areas were being exploited by this wicked man, especially when he lowered his head and lightly bit her chest, making her rationality collapse.
The man's clothes remained unchanged, still neatly worn, while she was already completely exposed under his teasing.
A burning sensation between her legs made her tremble, and the kisses on her waist made her unable to suppress her moans.
Her voice excited the man, who tightly grasped Catherine's slender waist. Catherine also knew what would happen next, reaching out her hand and encircling his neck.
The pain happened in an instant, the tearing sensation in her body making Catherine tremble.
The brief yet clear scene made her face pale.
Perhaps sensing the stiffness of the woman beneath him, the man on top seemed to lose interest, slowly withdrawing his body, tidying himself up, and sitting relaxed on the sofa.
Catherine crouched on the ground, feeling like something was missing from her body, clumsily picking up her torn clothes from the ground and putting them on.
As for Curtis, he admired Catherine's miserable appearance from a superior position, or rather, he always pleased himself with others' pain and grievances.
"Why am I here? I thought this was a gift prepared by you and my dear brother. Well, don't you know? He always likes to do such things to please me, but I didn't expect him to be so generous."
Curtis' words were light, "Of course, I didn't expect my future sister-in-law to approve of his actions. Women of the Hulit family are indeed suitable for being chaste women."
Catherine's face grew paler, Curtis' words felt like a slap in the face, hurting her so much that she didn't know what to say.
She dressed herself, trying to make herself look less disheveled.
Only the two of them knew what happened tonight. As long as they still cared about the face of both families, Curtis wouldn't mention it.
Of course, Catherine wouldn't either.
She knew that if she did, the Hulit family would think of her as a useless pawn, and her fate would be even more miserable. She didn't dare to think about it.
She tried to persuade Curtis, so she reluctantly spoke:
"I was not aware of what happened tonight. The marriage alliance between the Hulit and Tulls families cannot have any problems. Leonard probably had something urgent to attend to. If you're in a hurry to find him, you can..."
"What do you mean by something urgent? Is it with another woman, like what just happened between us? And how do you know that I came here not at his behest?"
Curtis forcefully interrupted Catherine's words, taking out a room key from the pocket of his expensive clothes.
Looking at the room key, Catherine's last trace of luck disappeared without a trace.
The room was booked by him, and only he had the room key. Could this still not explain the problem?
Trembling lips, tears streaming down her cheeks.
The man on the sofa turned on the floor lamp, gently draping his coat over Catherine.
"Poor little thing, did you think your fiancé was a gentleman? Do you want me to show you the true face beneath his gentlemanly facade?"
Curtis' voice whispered in Catherine's ear, reaching out to wipe away the tears on her face.
Catherine didn't feel grateful, but rather felt her limbs turning cold.
"Let's go, poor little thing."
Curtis tightly held Catherine's hand, not giving her any chance to refuse or regret, forcefully taking her out of the hotel.
It wasn't until they arrived at Leonard's mansion that Catherine realized that things had deviated from her expectations.
Her face turned pale, subconsciously wanting to escape, but she felt like a trapped mouse, unable to run away.
"Why run? You'll be living here from now on. By then, you'll see various women here, even... his cousin."
The man's voice at this moment sounded more like a demon's whisper, making Catherine incredulous as she looked up.
"What are you saying?"
"I said, didn't you already hear? I'm just preparing you in advance for your future life. I heard that women of the Hulit family, once married, never divorce, only become widows? Maybe you can break that rule?"
Curtis reached out, caressing Catherine's cheek, his eyes playful. Clearly, making Catherine break the hundred-year-old rule of the Hulit family brought him great pleasure.
Catherine bit her lip, feeling insulted by the man's words.
She wanted to retort, but found that what he said was true.
Even if Leonard had done something despicable, for the sake of the family's reputation, she had to act as if nothing had happened.
But the love from before was completely shattered tonight.
Yes, this man was always like this, he never cared about rules or others' lives when it came to what he liked, only resorting to any means to achieve his goals.
"Darling, take a good look. Perhaps I'm willing to help you?"
Curtis' previous words made Catherine feel insulted, but this sentence gave her hope.
"Who's there?"
The patrolling security guard heard the noise and walked over. Seeing it was Curtis, his arrogant demeanor disappeared instantly, looking at Curtis in shock.
"Shall we go?"
Curtis didn't give them a glance, looking straight at Catherine.
Catherine took a step towards the mansion.
"Uh... ha... cousin, be gentle."
"Gentle? Will you be comfortable then?"
Inside the room, the sounds of the man and woman's panting and low growls were distinctly clear to Catherine's ears.
Catherine gripped the doorknob, her hand already turning white from the force.
The door wasn't completely closed, seemingly intentionally left ajar. She saw the two people inside, completely naked.
The woman tilted her head back, her face showing pleasure and intoxication. Her hands tightly gripped the man's neck, her slender feet wrapped around his waist.
Leonard passionately ignited every part of the woman's body, causing her to moan with every touch.
Catherine watched as they changed positions, the man flipping the woman over, kneeling on the bed, her buttocks raised high at the man's urging.
Leonard excitedly slapped the woman's buttocks, then groped her chest roughly, eliciting a cry from her.
He kissed up her waist slowly, then found his spot.
Soon, the sounds inside became urgent, the creaking of the bed frame mixing with the woman's cries, creating a scene of intense passion.
"You see, Leonard has no morals. Go in, and then everything will be over."
The demon's whispers tempted Catherine, with the sounds of intimacy on one side and the temptation on the other.
Catherine bit her lip, her eyes reddening.
