CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN INSANE
JADE’S POV
I've said something about things breaking down when they seem too promising, haven't I? I'm happy I kept that thought at the back of my mind because if I hadn't, I would have been a bit upset by what just happened, but I'm not, and I shouldn't be—the day started typically. I had planned to leave later in the evening when he would be back because that was the least I could do after he practically saved my life and apologized for what happened before.
He was already gone by the time I woke up, around eight, and I decided to keep myself busy with my phone and the books in the library until the evening. I did that, of course, and it was fun. The silence that allowed my thoughts to flow was something I had missed for quite some time, and so I relished every second of it. I later fell asleep as I was reading a book about some elves who had the world's destiny in their hands or something like that.
I woke up a few hours later, around nine, so I knew he would be back soon. The
