CHAPTER THIRTY TWO FLATLINE
JADE’S POV
I decide to go back to the party when I realize that I've been in the library for too long, so I fix myself up—not that there's much to fix—and I, of course, regret my decision to come back out when I see that people have gone back to slow dancing. This is the point in every single person's life when they start to think of where they might've gone wrong, and for mine, I would say that I had been going wrong about this ever since I could speak; I hadn't been going about this rightly, so I blame myself a lot.
I had yet to be interested in going on dates despite getting a ton of advice from my friends, which was the result. Standing alone in this vast room, watching people stare into each other's eyes with smiles so innocent and alluring, seeing them forget that they're actually in a public setting all because they've been pulled into a trance by the person in their arms, pure untainted love. I want that, but should I have it? Do I deserve it? I'm not sure I do. Sometimes
