Chapter 14 Million Gold Coins Exchange
Despite living together for a few years, all I knew was that all he ever wanted was to expel me after the coming-of-age ceremony.
If they hadn't found out that I would go berserk, neither Takri nor Adri would have let me stay in their wolf pack.
The people who love me most in this world are dead.
"Kasha, trust me, we'll get along just as well as we did when Tina was still around. She'll let you stay, too." Takri said to me.
"I need time to think about it." I replied, heading for my room and locking the door behind me.
Until the evening, I stayed alone in my room and did not open the door to take the food sent by Takri.
I had no appetite and no tiredness, only tears that I couldn't help falling.
They haven't even told me where my father's piece of garden is.
Late at night, I forced myself to sleep so that I would be refreshed enough to attend Tina's funeral.
The next morning, Diana, a close friend of mine, came too.
"Oh Kasha, you look so haggard, we are all so sorry that Tina died, I will be there for you." Diana comforted me, her eyes also carrying tears.
Adri also came to the funeral.
He stood next to me, and all watched quietly as Tina was buried.
"Bye, Mom." Tears streamed down from my eyes as I looked at her remains and whispered.
But I knew that I would never see her again.
"Kasha, is there anything else you need to take care of? I can help you." Adri asked as she stood next to me.
"Expel Takri and mark his wolf pack members as rouge," I said as I wiped my eyes and looked back to Adri.
"What?" Adri seemed to not expect me to answer that way.
"If you finish this, I will join your wolf pack unconditionally, and I am also willing to remain your exclusive maid. If you can't say yes, then mark me as a rouge," I replied calmly.
It was Takri who killed my father and who forced Tina to marry him, and if she had remained with my father, she might not have died.
"Kasha, have you really decided? Once you mark them as rouge, it's impossible to go back to the wolves." Adri confirmed to me once again.
"Of course, do you think I look like I'm joking?" I said to Adri.
"Then you always have to tell me your reasons for doing so?" Adri inquired.
"He killed my father! My mother was forced to marry him, too, because she wanted to protect me or I would have been torn to pieces by Takri's men. Is that reason enough?"
I looked down at Tina's remains that had been completely covered with soil.
Adri was silent for a long time.
"I promise you." Adri replied.
I slowly closed my eyes, my mind was all about my parents, and I wondered what they would think when they saw me doing this.
Tina's funeral was over and I left the crowd alone.
Only Adri and his men remained there.
"Kasha! One day, I will kill you myself! Like I killed your father!" I walked over to Adri's limo, and behind me came Takri's hissing voice filled with hatred and anger.
I wiped the tears from my face, took a deep breath and got in the car.
I'm waiting for that day.
Adri soon got in the car too, but he didn't say anything.
As the car drove toward his villa, I looked out the window sideways.
For my choice, I do not know if it is the right one, but my father's death, there must be an explanation for him.
I did not choose to let Adri kill Takri, not only because the rules of werewolves do not allow it, but also because I had spent so many years with Takri.
Even without any emotional interactions, I didn't want to kill him, I just wanted him to pay a small price for my father's death.
Back at Adri's villa, I was still his exclusive maid, not changed by my wolf going berserk.
It didn't take long for Rafa to come to us.
"Sir, Alpha Russo from Bright Moon Pack wants to see you, he wants to talk to you." Rafa said respectfully to Adri.
"Talk about what? I've never had any dealings with them." Adri frowned slightly.
Rafa subconsciously glanced at me, and I instantly understood that it should be related to me again.
"Sir, if you don't want to see them, we will tell them that you are not here at this time." Rafa said.
"Tell them to wait in the lobby, I'll be there soon." Adri replied.
After Rafa left, Adri looked at me with a complicated look in his eyes, and soon looked the other way.
"Go wait for me in the study, the bookshelf is the third row from the bottom to the top, and there is a book in the last compartment on the right, you can bring it and read it." Adri said to me, and then walked out.
I went into the study as he had instructed and found the book.
The cover of the book is a little worn, but you can still see the string of gilt letters on it.
There is only one word on it - wolf.
I opened that book and read the general contents of the book from the table of contents.
The last line reads: Berserk Werewolf.
I flipped to the end of the book, and there was an account of berserking on it.
In the wolf pack, shift is already a strengthening for the wolves, and the daily training only makes the wolves' attack and defense power improve.
Berserking is considered a mutated individual among werewolves, but no one knows why it's happening.
After a werewolf with the same attribute transforms, the combat power of a berserk werewolf is several times higher than that of other werewolves, and this boost includes almost all attributes. From vision to hearing, speed and strength, as well as defense will all be rapidly increased to several times of the original, and there is no effect on itself, nor will it leave any side effects.
But the chances of a berserk werewolf appearing are about 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 100,000, and most berserk werewolves get out of control and become more berserk when they first shift and end up killing themselves.
A berserk werewolf who did not die during the first shift can, with training, become the strongest werewolf warrior with extreme combat power.
Closing the book, I closed my eyes.
Probably all wolf pack leaders want a powerful warrior who can protect them. And it was only after my second shift that I had my berserk form and didn't lose control.
The sound of turning a handle came from the doorway and I looked up.
It's Adri who's back.
"That book, have you read it already?"
Adri asked as he looked at me, noticing the book in front of me as well.
"Yes, I saw it all, so that Alpha Russo, too, was the one who wanted to take me?" I inquired, looking at Adri.
"That's right, he's willing to give me a million gold coins in exchange for trying to get you into his wolf pack." Adri replied.
I smiled, I didn't think I would be worth a million gold coins, that's a lot of money.
But I was still curious if Adri had said yes to him.
"So, can you tell me what the results are?" I asked, looking at him quietly.
