CHAPTER 337 THE FEELING
After dinner, Marcus lay in his old bed later that night, staring at the ceiling.
The faint smell of cedar and sea salt surrounded him in the same bedroom he grew up in. What should have been familiar and comforting to him was quite the opposite.
His eyes went from trophy to trophy that he had won in sparring tournaments as a teenager all lined up on his shelves.
Every means of getting sleep had eluded him, all because of Lunaria and how she appeared in his life tonight.
The day had been a blur of strange moments and hidden meanings, especially with Lunaria’s presence at dinner, which had unsettled him more than he cared to admit.
He rolled over for the umpteenth time, his body refusing to settle from the images of black roses and blood in the dreams that still clung to him, mixing with thoughts of Lunaria. She was a ghost from a past he couldn’t remember, and that fact gnawed at him.
