Adam was ordered to go back to Kael’s apartment and not his after-work with Alpha Hudson.
Not only was his cousin keeping an eye on him, but he turned him into some sort of chess piece he could just carry around wherever and whenever he liked. And Adam hated it.
Of course, he was going to comply, but only after he had seen Korbyn and sorted something out. He knew the kid would be looking for him, even though it was strictly business between the two.

He didn’t want Kael to be suspicious about his whereabouts, so he hectically sprints to the Academy before going to Crescent Cove, where Kael and the other men of power live.
