CHAPTER 315 CONTEMPLATION
Adam had been wandering the dimly lit street for the tenth time in a row.
His hands were shoved deep into the pockets of his jacket as he walked without purpose.
The sun was setting as he made the final walk for the day and decided to start heading toward the Academy. His mind was lost somewhere in fear, confusion, and guilt for messing things up badly.
Elora’s words from earlier hovered like a heavy cloud over him, the way her gaze was intense on him as she awaited answers she could not give.
She had seen through him and Korbyn, and now she was suspicious. Knowing her, she would at least try to figure out a fraction of the truth, not that he cared about what she had to say about him.
All he was intent on at the moment was to survive.
But this time, it felt different. This time, he had a sinking feeling he might not outrun it.
