CHAPTER 305 FLYING ARROWS
Marcus startled and awoke on the forest floor, pain radiating from his arm.
His mind swam through a haze of confusion and disorientation as he tried to push himself up from where he lay, which was almost soaked in blood.
He felt a particular spot in his arm throb with a sharp, relentless ache. He gritted his teeth from the pain that shot through his body as he glanced down, only to see an arrow embedded in his flesh, blood darkening the sleeve of his shirt.
The hunters—Darius and Yovan’s hunters had found him after all.
Forcing himself upright, Marcus knew he had no time to waste. The Archon's warning replayed in his mind: ‘He had to survive the night.’
His body was against every movement, but his instincts kept him going. Marcus had to reach Bourne, the only person who could help him in this state.
Besides, he was almost near Bourne’s secluded tent; he just had to hold on to life until he got there.
