CHAPTER 17 WELCOME HOME

CLAIRE A loud bang brought me abruptly awake. My heart kicked off with frantic thrashes. I clutched onto it first before reaching out for my pills. The pain was building, and the earlier I took the pills, the earliest I was going to recover from the stabbing pain. I swung to the side, and just as I was about to get out of bed to get to Irene and Willow, the bedroom door burst open, and Willow sprinted into the room with Irene in her arms. "What's going on?" We asked each other almost simultaneously. Then they broke off and stared blankly at each other. Then I quickly moved ahead to lock my door. We arched closer to the window, and to our horror, we were surrounded. Surrounded by wolves. They will find you. The words echoed in my head. Was that what Declan meant? Were these vicious-looking wolves about to attack us? My heart was thumping, and not even the pills could calm it. "We call 911 to request urgent intervention." I suggested, and just then, there was a loud cras
