She looked so damn serious as she spoke, and that had me wondering if this was really happening.
Was she really making that decision? It was a big one, and it shouldn't be made in a rush. I glanced back at Declan again as if for good measure.
She smiled and continued what she was saying.
"Let's not forget that I could have died as well.
Eamon failed not only every single one of us who faced the Wendigo and the rogues but also me.
The fact that he sent me out there meant one thing- he also wanted me dead.
So I'm not going to take a risk. There are no second chances, or I might not live to tell the story," she said before shaking her head disappointedly. "I trusted him so much, but I never knew that he never wanted me here.
There have been subtle signs over the years, but this one just changed everything. It showed me how cruel he was and how much he was willing to go to just get me out.
