Chapter 59

I knew that everyone was waiting for my 18th birthday for me to shift. And before I knew it, my birthday was upon us. I didn’t want anyone to make a fuss over it so I hung out with the twins and Wendy that day but by night the twins took me to the woods on the other side of town. Not the one near their house. We sat there in the woods, feeling the magical powers of the woods and letting it seep into us. The twins thought it might help, so we sat on the ground leaning up against a fallen tree and we were staring up trying to see the moon through the trees and chatting briefly. Suddenly, I sat up when I started feeling something weird happening. I looked down at my arms and I could see white fur starting to sprout on my arms in patches, some on my legs as well. But that was about it. It was strange. “How do you feel?” Tristan asked. “I don’t know. It’s weird.” I said. “Do you feel like you’re in pain?” Nathan asked. “No. There’s no pain.” I said. And Nathan looked over at Tristan. “That’
