NIKOLAI'S POV
Hawke let go of my hand. He did the spell all by himself together with the other witches. I am a witch too and I am fully aware how badly he needed a channel to maintain the border.
But I was already too weak. Julia too. It was pathetic. I felt pathetic that I couldn't even lend my strength. I saw my mother walking towards where we were but before she could even come closer, Morgiana stood in between us.
My mind screamed to run but my body was too weak to even lift a finger.
