Chapter 45 FORTY-FOUR

ARLEIGH POV The kiss was light at first, as though we were still testing the waters. He pulled back slightly and looked at my face, probably searching if I didn't want it or not. My eyes were on his lips the whole time. Despite the darkness around us, it was all I could see. His lips were too near to mine. So I didn't hesitate and waste any more seconds. I leaned closer to him this time and claimed his lips. He welcomed me warmly, deepening the kiss. I felt his hand now went from my shoulder to my waist, pulling me closer to him.
