Nicola looked so relieved when Silas stopped touching her. She thought the situation was ridiculous. She found it laughable that she tried to protect her body and dignity.
Silas wondered how deeply Nicola must love Charles to remain so loyal to him. The anger he had barely managed to suppress erupted again. Unable to contain his fury, he grabbed her shoulders and roughly dragged her down the stairs.
