Chapter 390
"It's delicious." Ian swallowed a mouthful of seafood stew and spoke truthfully. Hearing his affirmative response, Willow looked satisfied. It was as if she had eaten a pot of seafood stew herself.
Ian stared at her, his heart pounding so hard it felt like it was about to burst from his chest.
He instinctively pressed his hand against his chest. At that moment, he knew he could never let her go for the rest of his life.
She had rejected him, as he had expected, but he didn't feel disappointed. It only made him more determined.
"Willow, is your high school near here?" Seeing her nod, Ian continued, "Take me for a tour later."
Willow didn't want to get too close to Ian. Her ankle was hurting. She wouldn't take him for a tour.
"Mr. Nightingale, I'm afraid I can't accompany you. My ankle is sore, and I'd like to rest early."
Ian put down his chopsticks and stared sympathetically at Willow's swollen ankle. She had been on her feet all day, so it was no wonder her ankle hurt!
