Ian wondered if he had lost his mind. The feeling of holding this foot was just like how he held Willow's foot then. But how could this woman possibly be his beloved?
The dead would not come back. Willow's body had been cremated, so she was gone forever. Thinking of how he never got to see Willow one last time, Ian's eyes grew wet. He turned away until he could force his usual mask of calm back in place.
Willow's foot was as pale as ivory. The outer side of her left foot was badly scraped by the car, and it was still seeping bright red blood.
Ian had insisted on taking her to the hospital to check for broken bones or other injuries. After a thorough examination showed her bones were alright, he knew that he could treat the wounds himself.
Her delicate toes curled slightly in his palm, which he found to be impossibly cute. Her toenails even had a healthy pink tint in the center. It was hard to believe such an ugly woman could have such beautiful feet.
