The intricate plans laid out in Cara's diary were shocking. It was only now that I fully understood what she had meant when she said she would kill Fred. She had been plotting for at least five years.
Once she discovered what Fred and his group were doing behind closed doors, she began collecting evidence against them, but in doing so, she also became entangled in their crimes.
If something happened to Fred, Cara knew she wouldn't escape unscathed either. She had secretly been stirring up the families of the women who had been trafficked, using them as a weapon to strike back at Fred—a weapon to free herself from the prison of darkness.
But the one thing she regretted most was getting Diana involved.
