The police station was only 500 yards away. Hence, the officers arrived rather quickly.
"How dare you!" Lily pounded the ground in rage and splashed the water as she gritted her teeth. "Cassie!"
Her white dress was drenched in mud. She was in utter disarray.
Yet her gaze remained venomous and as sharp as a blade. I would've been torn to shreds by her a thousand times over if looks could kill.
I smoothed my dress and knelt beside her as I whispered, "I've looked into your past. Do you still remember Will Alvarez and Pedro Synder?"
"What did you say?" She had the menacing air of a panther lurking in the shadows a moment ago, but she immediately froze at the mention of the names as if struck by lightning. She suddenly became as harmless as a kitten.
