Chapter 18
For some reason, Lily never replied to my message, nor did she come to take Darren away. Darren stuck to me like a bodyguard, leaving when I left the house and always showing up when I finished work.
No matter how I yelled or scolded him, he wouldn't budge.
I gave up. I was tired. I figured I'd just let him waste his time if that was what he wanted. Eventually, he'd figure it out and leave on his own.
One day, after a problem arose with the design of a new game character, we had a meeting. By the time it was over, the sky outside was pitch-black.
Our boss instructed us to resolve the issue as quickly as possible so that we could all enjoy a good New Year's. As I rubbed my tired forehead, I packed up and got ready to leave.
"Mr. Lawson."
"Greetings, Mr. Lawson."
Hearing my colleagues greet someone, I looked up and saw Donn walking toward me.
"Mr. Lawson?" I asked, half in disbelief.
Donn's gentle smile appeared on his face. "I still prefer it when you call me Donn."
