I replied, "Next Saturday. I've already booked my flight ticket."
Silence ensued as soon as I was done talking. Helena was the first to break the silence.
She looked at me in agitation and said, "Mark, I think we need to have a proper talk. I really can't bear continuing like this with you anymore."
I looked at her curiously. "What's the matter? Is anything wrong with it?"
Helena had always told me to be more thoughtful and considerate in the past. So, why was she now dissatisfied with my behavior?
She frowned harder and asked, "Are you behaving like this because of Jaxon?"
I said nothing. She bit her lips and continued, "If you mind my relationship with him, I can break things off with him for you. But can you please stop being so cold with me?"
