Candice's eyes lost their tears, replaced by a shy demeanor as she held Griffin's hand, accepting the blessings of the crowd. Griffin seemed indifferent, as marrying anyone was the same to him. It wouldn't stop him from continuing his antics. For now, he pretended to be affectionate with Candice, deceiving the others. "At Griffin and Miss Candice's wedding, all of you will be invited again!" Wood declared loudly, concluding Griffin's engagement announcement. Everyone present was astute enough to understand what had just happened. It was obvious Griffin and Candice had been up to no good, but it was unclear who had exposed them. Wood wanted to protect his son without offending the Bonnie family. Unable to tarnish his son's reputation, he had to accept Candice and Griffin, creating an image of ignorance for himself.
