Chapter 58: A Well-Matched Couple

To avoid raising suspicion, Jennifer kept her head down as she left. Though no tears fell, her swollen eyes told the whole story. It took Haiqin a lot of effort to convince Jennifer to stay. Several times, Haiqin wanted to tell Jennifer that she knew about her mother being held captive by Albertus. She had already prepared a plan to rescue her! But revealing such a plan to one more person meant one more risk. Haiqin's plans couldn't go smoothly; there were many things to handle to deal with Albertus. Now wasn't the right time. After seeing Jennifer off, Haiqin received a message from Albertus. Albertus moved quickly, as if he feared his chosen good match would run away before the engagement banquet. He moved the date forward as much as possible to show his importance, even personally writing the invitations for Tinona and Isaac. When Haiqin saw Albertus, he was just hanging up the phone.
