Chapter 33: Cunning but Not Enough
A man suddenly appeared by Abelas's side.
Haichin recognized him; he was Abelas's confidant, Olei.
Hernokov was staying with Olei's relatives.
Seeing Olei approach Abelas, Haichin knew that Hernokov had begun to act.
Sure enough, after saying something to Abelas, Olei's face suddenly turned serious.
Abelas handed his goblet to a nearby servant and hastily left, saying, "Excuse me."
Seeing Abelas leave, Haichin knew that half of her plan had succeeded.
"What are you looking at?" A sudden male voice startled Haichin.
Isaac didn't know when he appeared next to Haichin, holding the plate she had just put down.
Haichin's heart raced as she touched her chest.
She glared at Isaac and replied irritably, "Why did you suddenly appear without saying anything?"
Isaac felt a bit wronged. He raised an eyebrow at Haichin and said, "Didn't I speak? Or do you have something on your mind?"
