Chapter 5

Nina ended the call. But she couldn’t sleep at all. She stretched her arms, got up and went downstairs. As soon as she walked to the hall downstairs, she saw her uncle, Antony An, there. Antony An had always been an awful person. Just because Nina’s grandfather had passed on most of the An family's ancestral heritage to her dad before his death, her uncle always had a lot of grudges towards them and always came to find faults in them. And to snatch the family property, he had been secretly colluding with Jason, hastening the decline of the An clan. Nina calmly observed the people in the living room and saw that Antony had brought his illegitimate daughter with him today. “If I remember correctly, Antony’s goal today is to get her illegitimate daughter to work for the An Group.” She pondered to herself. The current person in charge of the An's Group was her father, Jonah. And he had yet to give his approval to join, especially since Antony wanted to give his illegitimate daughter a good position. In the last life, her father trusted Antony and promised him that his illegitimate daughter can join the An Group. However, this illegitimate girl was very ambitious and brought nothing but misery to the group. Now on her rebirth, Nina vowed to herself that she won’t let them succeed! She strode over casually. "Cousin, have some tea." Sheryl An, the illegitimate daughter, graciously handed over a cup of tea, looking very polite. Nina stretched out her hand. Just after receiving the tea, Sheryl's hand slipped and the hot tea was about to be poured onto Nina's hands. Fortunately, Nina knew her tricks too well after her rebirth. In her previous life, she pretended to be always in distress with a straight face, but behind her facade was an insidious and cunning self. She had even climbed onto Jason's bed. For this kind of flower, one must pluck it’s petals to see it’s insides. At this moment, Nina quickly grabbed Sheryl's hand that were already moving away, and the overturned tea fell abruptly onto Sheryl's hand. It all happened so fast that no one could see it at all. Only Sheryl’s shout resounded in the hall, "Ah!" Then came the sound of a teacup falling to the ground and breaking. "What's wrong?" Antony sounding a little nervous. "I know that cousin didn't mean it." Sheryl said quickly. Quickly pinning the blame on the accident, Sheryl had told what happened, not to mention how quickly she acted so delicate and pitiful. It’s no wonder that even though she is an illegitimate daughter, she was favored by Antony. But the next second. Snapped! Nina slapped Sheryl hard on Sheryl's miserable face. Nina only used a fraction of her strength to slap Sheryl on the spot. Sheryl looked at the compelling Nina at this moment in disbelief. She knew Nina too well. She was clearly a well-behaved woman with a clear temperament and will never do such things who can’t ignore anyone crying. As long as she cries, Nina will pity them. As long as Sheryl cries, the whole family will feel forgive her. But now, Nina actually slapped her. "Do you know that this tea set was our grandfather’s favorite during his lifetime? Now it's broken by you, can you pay it?" Nina yelled, full of prestige. Sheryl blushed halfway and her tears flowed more intensely. She said pitifully, "No, cousin just didn't catch it, it was cousin fault—" "I didn't catch it or did you let go without waiting for me to catch it?" Nina interrupted her, "What? Did you learn to lie now?" "No, you clearly..." Sheryl shook her head quickly with an aggrieved expression on her face. "Still quibbling!" Nina's face sank, "Sure enough, you’re not a daughter of the An family. One can't easily join us in table and yet you easily broke our tableware." Antony's expression changed when he heard Nina's irony to his daughter. One can’t easily prove who was right or wrong just now. And in addition, Sheryl is indeed an illegitimate daughter o he can’t act all too elegant in front of them. He can't find a word to refute her for a while, so he had to endure this criticism! "Cousin." Nina turned to look at Zyril An, the main daughter of Antony, "You sister, really can't compare to you at all." Zyril did not agree with Nina. It was clear that she is the real eldest daughter of Antony, but because her grandfather had left the family property to Jonah's family, Nina had become main heiress, higher than them. Instead, she had become a side character and has always been worried about it. But at this moment, because Nina had humiliated Sheryl, she felt very happy in her heart! If the bitch Sheryl hadn't been pampered by her dad, she would’ve been beaten to death with a stick. "I don’t know if she grew up with a stubborn personality. I can’t do anything except pretend to be innocent. I’ll persuade my dad not to take her to my second uncle’s care, so as not to be embarrassed. It’s all right now, it’s broken. Grandpa's can’t kill you since he’s already dead." Zyril said in disgust. "Enough!" Antony looked ugly, and he yelled at Zyril, "Don’t speak another word!" Zyril rolled her eyes unhappy. "Okay." Jonah stood up from his sofa and acted as the mediator. "Although father had gone and leave us, the old man certainly did not want to make the family unhappy because of a teacup. The so-called broken piece, I’ll let the servant came over and cleaned it up."
