"Avery, that's enough! Stop it!" Kino's urgent voice echoed from a corner of the cinema. She knew Tyre's hidden strength could easily handle Avery's provocations, but the thought of Avery's father being the famous mage Hobart made her worry.
If Tyre seriously injured Avery, Hobart's wrath could stir up a storm.
With that in mind, Kino rushed forward, spreading her arms to shield Tyre, like a brave hen protecting her chicks.
"Don't be impulsive, Mr. Tyre. Don't let something small escalate," she pleaded, her eyes filled with earnest concern.
Avery sneered, his gaze filled with disdain.
"Ha! Scared now? Is this guy only good at hiding behind a woman's skirt? If he's got guts, he should step up and fight me fair and square!" His words were laced with provocation, as if any retreat from Tyre would prove he was a coward.
Tyre gently patted Kino's shoulder to reassure her, then stood straight, his eyes like flames locking onto Avery.
