Chapter 15 You"d Better Not Believe a Man"s Words
"Women love to be beautiful after all. No matter how capable they are, they can"t win a man"s heart no matter how vulgar they are."
"Don"t say that. Didn"t Miss Jewell receive the big box of clothes this morning from Mr. Sean? It"s worth hundreds of thousands of dollars!"
When Olinka heard those words from the break room, she was so angry that she gritted her teeth so hard that they creaked.
"Olinka, what are you thinking about?"
Amanda"s voice suddenly came from behind her, making Olinka tremble in fear.
She turned around and saw that Amanda was wearing a sexy light purple dress, which was even sexier than yesterday. The back of the dress was made of thin gauze, and Amanda"s perfect butterfly bone was partly visible.
But with her elegant and decent smile, Amanda didn"t look vulgar. Instead, she had a unique beauty.
Olinka"s fake smile froze on her face, and her eyes were filled with jealousy.
She recognized the high-end, custom-made dress worth more than 100,000 dollars.
Could it be that this was the gift from Halley, so Amanda couldn"t wait to take it out and wear it?
"Do you like it? Halley bought it for me last night," Amanda said casually.
"Yes, it"s good-looking."
Olinka gnashed her teeth as she spoke; her face was flushed because of anger.
Olinka took advantage of the chaos to leave, but she couldn"t suppress the hatred in her heart.
Amanda smiled and returned to her office from the break room. After quickly calculating the time, she took out her phone and clicked on the monitoring app.
After a while, she saw Olinka entering the office of Halley.
Their naked bodies and expressions of enjoyment were displayed on Amanda"s mobile phone screen.
Looking at this scene, she felt like vomiting.
After Amanda confirmed that the surveillance video had been backed up in real time backstage, she returned her phone with satisfaction.
But this evidence was far from enough.
Amanda estimated Halley"s pink affair would make up for her at least 15% of the shares.
This also meant that as long as the status of the Sean Group could rise recently, she would be able to convert the shares into more money.
Therefore, she had to pick up the pace and push the Sean Group to the next level.
When she asked for a divorce, she had to take away more than half of the Sean Group"s business partners.
She had been the one to talk about many of the Sean Group"s projects over the years. She did not believe in the chamber of commerce that rarely showed themselves would believe in Halley"s ability.
Amanda sorted out her things and took the initiative to go to the Byran Group.
"Mr. Byran is in a meeting. Please wait for a moment."
Iverson"s secretary led her into a reception room.
Amanda took the hot tea from the secretary with a smile and waited alone.
But as time went by, she began to feel uneasy.
She couldn"t help wondering how that man would treat her later.
Two hours later, the secretary returned and invited her into Iverson"s office.
As soon as Amanda walked in, she saw a lusting scene.
A young, pretty woman was sitting on Iverson"s lap, her arms wrapped around his neck and her red lips pressed against his earlobe. No one knew what she was saying.
However, her body blocked Iverson"s face, making it impossible for Amanda to see the expression on his face.
"Mr. Byran, I"m sorry. I didn"t know Miss Ginos was here!"
The secretary jumped in fright and immediately closed the office door to block Amanda"s line of sight.
"I"m sorry, Miss Jewell..."
"It"s all right." Amanda smiled calmly.
She knew that men"s words couldn"t be trusted.
Was he especially cherishing his first time?
What a joke!
That must have been Iverson"s excuse because he wanted to get more benefits from her!
In the office, Iverson looked coldly at the woman sitting next to him and said, "Enough!"
His voice was cold and threatening.
Lydia Ginos innocently lowered her gaze, but when she met Iverson"s terrifying gaze, she could only bite the bullet and get off his body.
"Take your things and leave now."
"Don"t be like this, Iverson." Lydia ostentatiously stuffed a few exquisite boxes of gifts on the sofa into his hand. "These are the neckties I carefully selected for you. A famous foreign craftsman made them. Every single one of them is well-designed. Please accept my sincerity."
Her flattery failed to improve Iverson"s mood.
Iverson mercilessly threw all the gift boxes into the trash can in front of her.
Only then did Lydia realize that she had truly angered him.
She pouted sadly and said, "Since I went abroad to study a few years ago, we have met less and less. Don"t you miss me at all?"
"Miss Ginos." Iverson took out a wet tissue and meticulously wiped his neck with a cold voice, which had been touched by her just now.
"I hope that before you do such a thing next time, you will think about the relationship between us first. Otherwise, I will not show mercy to a girl."
The warning was clear. Lydia was so terrified that she didn"t dare to make another sound.
The Byran Family and the Ginos Family could be considered friends, but that was all.
Lydia had intended to visit the Byran Group today. Still, as soon as she walked in, she saw the breathtaking beauty in the reception room.
The sudden sense of crisis made her hair stand on end for some reason.
Worried that Iverson would be taken away, Lydia summoned the courage to challenge Iverson"s authority. She wanted to declare her status to Amanda.
However, Lydia"s actions had touched the bottom line of Iverson.
Iverson"s gaze swept past Lydia.
But because the office door was closed, he couldn"t be sure whether Amanda was still there or not.
He pressed the call button on the coffee table and frowned slightly. "Jamie, please ask Miss Ginos to leave."
Lydia"s expression immediately changed. Was Iverson going to be so heartless?
