The hospital machine had flat lined. All around, nurses and assisting doctors moved around, gathering the equipment of their failed operation. On the table, the unconscious body of Lionel Remington laid, lifeless, something, his very daughter, Ivory had never expected to see. She hated him, despised him even, but, never had she wanted him to die. He was her father, the man she loved, looked up to and idolized when things had been sunny side up.
