Chapter 144
Gadreel sat in his office, head leaned against the headrest of his chair and eyes closed. In the darkness of his mind, a foreign memory played out.
It was that of a kid, Ivory, he knew from her red hair which had been packed into two even pony tails and golden eyes.
The young girl was seated at the foot of a bed, watching him, dream him, try to build a castle out of the new set of building blocks his parents had given him.
There was a pout on her lips and after a little while, she had gotten up, approached him, and without so much as remorse, kicked the entire castle down, ruining the work he had spent hours on.
The feeling was vague, but Gadreel, at that point, recalled being angry, but when the kid Ivory had looked down at him, her pout deepened, and those golden eyes had filled with unshed tears, his anger vanished.
All that had remained was confusion and guilt.
