From Emily's point of view
After two hours, Vincent finally regained consciousness.
"How are you feeling now?" I inquired.
"I feel much better," he replied weakly, his voice still fragile. As he gazed at me, he said, "Thank you for taking care of me, Emily. You saved my life."
I moved him to the side of the bed and said, "I was extremely worried about you, but thankfully you're okay now."
"Are you hungry? Can I get you something to eat?" I asked, feeling a bit helpless about how to take care of him.
Food seemed like the most basic thing I could offer to help him regain his strength after such a traumatic injury.
He held onto my hand and replied, "No, I'm okay. Just having you here with me is enough." As he spoke, his gaze shifted toward the bathroom.
